CWTA formally launches cross-sector 5G Canada Council
Formal platform for discussion on 5G rollout in Canada now accepting members
Ottawa, December 1, 2017 – The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) is thrilled to announce the launch of the 5G Canada Council (5GCC), the opening of 5GCC memberships beyond CWTA Members, and a formal kick-off event in the New Year.
Since its successful 5G conference held in Ottawa in November 2016, CWTA has been working with its members and other industry players to establish a forum to identify and discuss the benefits, challenges and priorities related to the development and implementation of 5G networks in Canada. This work has resulted in the establishment of the 5GCC, a cross-sector consortium that will support Canada’s 5G innovation agenda and facilitate collaboration on 5G issues.
The application process for 5GCC membership is now open. Prospective members of the Council need not be members of CWTA and include all stakeholders who have an express interest in the evolution and adoption of 5G technologies in Canada, comprising private sector, government, research groups, educational bodies and other industry associations. Members of the 5GCC will take the stage on February 7, 2018 at the newly renovated National Arts Centre in Ottawa where the 5GCC’s kick-off event will be held.
For more information on 5GCC membership or to attend CWTA’s complementary 5GCC event, please contact Chantale Neapole, CWTA Senior Manager of Member Services and Events ([email protected], 613-233-4888, ext. 204).
