As Canadians are using mobile services more than ever, the price of wireless service plans has steadily decreased as evidenced by data published by Statistics Canada and the CRTC. Canadian mobile providers are also introducing plans with higher data buckets, reducing the cost per GB and providing more value to consumers.

Increasing value of Canadian wireless plans, from 2022 to 2024.

In 2022, a 2 gigabyte plan cost Canadians $37.50 per month. That’s $18.75 per gigabit of data.
In 2024, for $34.00 per month, Canadians can purchase a 20 GB plan. That’s $1.70 per gigabyte of data, a 91% decrease in dollar per gigabyte since 2022.

In 2022, a 6 gigabyte plan cost Canadians $45.00 per month. That’s $7.50 per gigabit of data.
In 2024, for $44.00 per month, Canadians can purchase a 50 GB plan. That’s $0.88 per gigabyte of data, an 88% decrease in dollar per gigabyte since 2022.
