Internet access services
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of fixed wireline and wireless internet access services as Canadians relied heavily on internet access services to maintain economic and social activity. As Canada emerged from the pandemic, Canadians continue to rely on their home internet for work, school and entertainment. Despite the increase in usage, the price index for internet access services has mostly remained flat and has trended well below overall inflation. At the same time, the performance and coverage of internet access services has increased.
